Program Description
Since its founding, Web3 Institute (W3I) has grown into a leading institution in the Web3 space of Ukraine, impacting over 36,000 students and professionals through its education programs, from grassroots learning to specialized training for government entities. We have cultivated a strong network of Organisational Partners : in government (Ministry of Digital Transformation, Cyberpolice), business (Ethereum Foundation, Solana Foundation), and academia (Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, leading universities in Ukraine etc), enabling a unique cross-sector dialogue and collaboration. We are committed to shaping a future-ready digital society by advancing economic recovery, digital trust, and ESG-aligned innovation in Ukraine and the world. Its mission for 2026–2027 centers on strengthening talent pipelines through a robust academia-business interface, establishing a scalable funnel for both government Blockchain + AI Sandbox integration and strategic investment, and accelerating the development of accessible and interoperable digital ecosystems. To realize this, W3I is seeking targeted funding to expand its talent initiatives, collaboration platforms, and infrastructure supporting next-gen digital governance and cybersecurity.
Talent
We are building an integrated talent pipeline that connects Web3 education to meaningful work opportunities, supported by community-owned funding mechanisms.
- Course Evolution – Expand curriculum to include career-focused tracks, integration to access EU student mobility funding and institutional partnerships. Building on our existing courses: Основи криптограмотності та блокчейну, Вступ до кар’єри у веб3, and Future of Digital Democracy .
- Internship Expansion – Keep cohort frequency at 2 per year, broadening scope beyond technical roles to include policy, legal, and business functions; geographic expansion into EU markets. Scaling the Програма стажування для молодих спеціалістів that has already placed interns from leading tech universities into Ukrainian web3 companies.
- DAO Maturation – Scale community funding to $10-20k/year, transitioning our own product development support to DAO governance, demonstrating sustainable community-driven resource allocation. Expanding W3I DAO – наш спільний фонд as the foundation for this initiative.
This creates a self-reinforcing ecosystem where education feeds talent into the industry, successful participants contribute back through the DAO, and institutional partnerships provide sustainability and reach.
Research
We are establishing a research-to-market infrastructure that identifies emerging Web3 use cases, validates them through academic rigor and conference exposure, then accelerates viable projects through structured incubation.
- Research – Complete Web3 for Ukraine: Impact of Decentralization in Key Sectors of Ukraine’s Digital Economy, establishing methodological frameworks and knowledge base for evidence-based Web3 development; outputs will inform both education content and incubation criteria.
- Conference Series – Execute 2 additional conferences (total 3 across period), awarding first cohort of winners and creating visible recognition layer for quality projects; builds deal flow for incubation pipeline. Leveraging the established IEEE UA DLT Forum: Rebuilding Ukraine Through Web3 Resilience platform and the Digital Economy Research Awards initiative.
- Incubation Launch – Run trial incubation program in 2026 with partner organizations, evaluate results, then scale to full operational capacity in 2027. This connects to our Blockchain + AI Sandbox work stimulating emergence and scaling of companies in medicine, agriculture, education, defense, digital economy, and public administration.
This creates a knowledge-generation and validation engine. Research identifies what works, conferences surface promising teams, incubation accelerates viable solutions. Partners provide co-investment validation and market access. The full cycle from research insight to market-ready venture strengthens Web3's transition from speculation to utility.
Union
We are maintaining organizational coherence and strategic positioning through active contributor engagement, consortium partnerships, and systematic ecosystem intelligence gathering.
- Intelligence – Maintain systematic tracking of partner states, regulatory developments (law state, changes in government leadership), technology trends (RWA, payments, SSID, AI), and market shifts (speculation to utility). This leverages our network of Organisational Partners across government, business, and academia.
- Strategy – Develop meaning-making and coordination frameworks that connect partners and projects; leverage integrated service architecture to facilitate collaborations and digital innovation hubs partnerships.
- Contributors – Establish quarterly rhythms including advisor meetings, chess tournaments, and community events; building on 2025's feedback and retrospective practices to strengthen contributor alignment and retention.
This creates an adaptive organizational system where contributor engagement maintains internal capacity, strategic positioning secures external legitimacy and resources, and ecosystem intelligence ensures responsiveness to regulatory, technological, and market shifts.
