Dear partners,
We are pleased to share the Q3 2025 report for the Web3 Institute. This quarter we deepened university partnerships, expanded hands‑on learning paths, and prepared ecosystem convening to accelerate practical Web3 adoption in and for Ukraine.
Education & Community
Internship matching
- In H1 we ran our first internship cohort. Students gained real‑world experience inside leading Web3 teams. Several participants converted internships into full employment.
- Based on results and university calendars, we are continuing with two cohorts per year aligned to academic terms.
- We are growing collaboration with professors at leading technical universities and expanding to business schools. We also support industry events such as the DeJob 2.0.
If your team can host an intern or a junior contributor, let us know. Here’s a shortlist of talented students and career switchers from our pipeline and more info: Partnership proposal
DAO micro‑grants
This year we launched a DAO for our community of educators, students, and researchers.
- The first micro‑grant has been awarded for the Grinchenko student competition.
- Next in the queue: a Lviv hackathon and a ReFi research and education track.
- These are grassroots, community‑led initiatives, the typical grant size is about $250.
- The pool is funded by Celo, Glo Dollar, Gardens and community contributions
- Over 17 community members currently have voting access, including developers, partners, and community organizers.
We invite partners to co‑fund this pool or stand up a dedicated fund for targeted outcomes. This creates synergy with our university work and can catalyze student clubs, prototypes, and local initiatives.
Research & Development
DLT Forum 2025
- On Nov 11–13 we host our second UA DLT Forum — an online conference featuring IEEE and Incrypted.
- As part of the program, we will run meetups with Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust, RadicalxChange and Stellar – announcement to be published soon
- Key theme: reBUIDL Ukraine — practical ideas for how Web3 can support the country’s recovery and long‑term development.
- Interested in speaking or adding your event to the agenda? Please get in touch with Max Semenchuk
Research updates
- We’re continuing our work on Web3 for Ukraine: Impact of Decentralization in Key Sectors of Ukraine’s Digital Economy
- Key directions of focus for now: blockchain in energy, judicial system and standard for CBDC
- Also we’ve joined the Industry connection program from IEEE and actively gather relevant use cases from the industry
- Would like to join as advisor, co-author or use case provider – contact Sergii Grybniak, PhD
Ecosystem
Web3 Talent Association
As a part of our Integrated talent strategy we invite organizations to join an association to develop Ukranian web3 talents. One of the proposed next steps is to co‑create an open, verifiable credential ecosystem that lowers the transaction cost of trust across education and employment in Web3. By issuing on‑chain certificates and attestations for coursework, internships, hiring outcomes, and recommendation letters (for example, via Attest.org), we strengthen education‑to‑employment pipelines, reduce hiring risk, and give companies and DAOs publicly verifiable proofs for evaluating talent and contributors.
Ukraine holds NFT torch
In July Ethereum Foundation launched it’s ceremonial NFT Torch, created to mark Ethereum’s 10‑year anniversary. The torch was symbolically passed between notable community members, developers, and builders — each holding it for 24 hours — including Joseph Lubin and Audrey Tang. Alex Bornyakov, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, became one of the holder representing Ukraine and it’s waive of various crypto war-related fundraising (over $120M total), marking the impact of web3 on the country and the world.
Thanks for your care, Web3 Institute Team.
